Why did you choose to work at Touching Hearts at Home?
I chose to work at Touching Hearts because I truly enjoy helping seniors. Touching hearts has made me feel more valued as an employee by giving me a better compensation for my time and effort than some other previous senior living jobs.
What is a typical day at work like for you?
A typical day at work for me consists of keeping my client and her cat company. Mostly by sharing small talk and watching tv together. Mixed with some laughs, light housekeeping, and giving her some reminders when needed for things she needs to do in her daily life
What is your favorite memory from working as a caregiver?
My favorite memory of caregiving is the feeling of appreciation that it brings from the people in my care and their family members. It gives me a sense of purpose to be able to comfort and help others when needed.
What do you like the most about care giving at Touching Hearts?
What I like most about working for Touching Hearts is that I have one person that I can give my undivided attention to. Instead of sometimes having the feeling of being overwhelmed by working in a facility where several individuals need your attention, sometimes at the same time. While usually being faced with the challenges of working with a lack of staff
What is your dream trip or vacation?
My dream vacation would be to go to Hawaii. It looks like a beautiful place to visit.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know about you?
That I love Ben & Jerrys Strawberry cheesecake ice cream. If you like cheesecake, I’d highly recommend you give it a try.
